It Does Seem Pointless.

I Read They Were Making Skirmish Easier To Understand And Play For The Next Starter.That Might Actually Be Nice...Might....

It's an odd combination to be sure, but there are creatures out there that do have castings of Fear and such that do make the ability of some (albeit marginal) use.

Critters on a VA need all the help they can get...even if it's only got 5 HP.

Seems to be directly aimed at the krenshar. Fodder hunter flavor of the month.
