I see no file in vassal for character creation that's obvious. Yeah I suck at life.

Vassal isn't intended to be used for character creation. Vassal allows multiple users to see the same thing. All players/observers in the Vassal room will be able to see the same map, miniatures on said map, etc.

Redblade is a pretty decent character generator, but there are some quirks to it. Not all the information is accurate, and it's best to verify character creation with a PHB. Redblade uses only SRD information because that is all it is legally allowed to use.

Redblade

It's a separate program that you have to download/install. It just has (most/all) of the SRD components for character generation. I found it helpful more from a procedural point of view than anything else.

I like the program as it's pretty handy, but I don't trust anything it puts out as 100% accurate, and I don't like the character sheet it generates, either.

EDIT: DARN CODE TAGS

If you're not real familiar with creating characters, it's a very good tool to use. Don't get me wrong, if it weren't for using Redblade I never would have been able to familiarize myself with the 3.5 rules enough to figure it out on my own.

For the most part, I'd say Redblade is pretty accurate. I just ran into a couple issues when creating my character that were probably pretty unique to what I was trying to do. YMMV. :whee:
