Updates to the DDM FAQ Empty
PostSubject: Updates to the DDM FAQ   Updates to the DDM FAQ EmptyMon Apr 09, 2007 8:54 am

A couple things were removed:

The Mass Battles errata for the Miniatures Handbook, which isn't relevant to the skirmish game.

Some very basic Q&As that aren't really about game play specifics, and which I think aren't really necessary. If they become necessary, they'll be added back.

It is now broken up into three sections:

Errata to the current version of the online rulebook. (A revision to the online rulebook won't be happening soon.)

Supplemental Rules that cover general situations not handled by the rulebook.

Alphabetical Reference of all terms from the glossary, as well as all creatures, abilities, spells, and terrain that have either clarifications or errata.

Here are the major rules changes:

The new Attack Sequence and Spell and Special Ability Sequence sections cause a few things to happen differently than they did before. One major example is the loss of invisibility granted by the invisibility or invisibility sphere spells. Previously the loss of invisibility was simultaneous with the action that triggered the loss, so you had some control over whether you became visible then did the thing, or did the thing then become visible. Now, you become visible at the start of doing the thing, period. (See the sequences for more detail.)

The Psychic Scream errata (which smoothed the interaction with Independent) has been removed. It is effectively replaced by a new rule in the Command section of the Supplemental Rules, which makes the interaction between Psychic Scream and Independent work differently than it did before.

The Bordered By definition now allows you to count as bordered by a wall if you are touching only a corner of a wall.
(There are many other minor rules changes/tweaks strewn throughout, but most of them are very minor or were already communicated other ways.)
